Joyce L. Fontes

Joyce Lucille Fontes passed away at her home in Gardena California with loving family and friends by her side, on Monday, January 27, 2014 due to complications from Metastized Lung Cancer.
Joyce was born November 23, 1934 in Ohio where she spent her childhood years before moving to California in 1933 at the age of 9.
She graduated from Banning High School in Wilmington, California. After High School Joyce found employment at Boeing Aircraft. Joyce soon found employment at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center where she worked until retiring 32 years later.
Joyce served for 12 years as a Volunteer for the Gardena Police Department until she was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
Waiting for her in Heaven is her Father Theodore , Mother Peg, Brother John and Son Anthony.
She is survived by her Son: Ron Riggs, Brothers: James Schmid, Jack Schmid, Grandchildren: Anthony Riggs, Shaun Riggs, Ryan Riggs, Ronnie Riggs, Regan Riggs, Great Grandchildren: Caeser Riggs, Melissa Riggs, Shaun Riggs Jr., Anthony Riggs Jr., Henry Riggs and Khloe Riggs.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Service will be held at Rolling Hills Covenant Church, North Campus, on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with a graveside service at Green Hills Memorial Park. Following the graveside service there is a Celebration Lunch at Rolling Hills Covenant Church, North Campus. Location: 2221 Palos Verdes Drive North, Rolling Hills Estates CA 90274.
