Josephine (Jody) Graf of Carson, CA passed away from natural causes on June 21, at the age of 89. She is survived by her brother Thomas England, six children, six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She also leaves many other dear family members and friends.
Jody was born in Detroit, Michigan to James and Ruth England. Her young life was lived in Michigan and she moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University. There, she met her husband, John William Graf. After college and a few years in Arizona, they relocated to Southern California. Their family was growing and by 1969, they were raising six children. Jody worked at various jobs, while mainly caring for her large family. Jody was widowed in 2004, but she was strong and independent and took every opportunity to socialize and expand her friendships and activities.
Jody was a wonderful mother and sweet and loving person. Her smile would radiate up to her eyes and everyone that knew or even just met her, adored her.
She loved music and dancing, especially traditional pop and jazz. She could even lovingly be called a groupie to a few local musicians. Even in her latest stages of Alzheimer’s, she would always be humming, smiling, and ready to dance.
Because of her sweet disposition and kind nature, her family was able to care for her at home. It was a blessing to her and her family alike. Throughout her illness, there were many people who offered their love, time and support and her family will be forever grateful.
Jody will be dearly missed and she will always be in our hearts.
