Joseph Rubio

July 21, 1925 — August 19, 2011

Joseph Rubio (86), a longtime resident of Rancho Palos Verdes passed away on August 19, 2011 after a brief illness. Joe was born in Forest Hills, NY on July 21, 1925. During World War II, Joe served as a radio aerial gunner with 24 combat missions and 5 battle stars over North Africa and Italy. He was a long time educator at Dana Middle School and a popular football referee. He was an avid motor home enthusiast and world traveler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty; mother, Palmira; father, Jose; and sister, Cookie. He leaves behind his "Significant Other", Bernice Brady; children, Leslie Bursey, and JoAnn (Dicky) Tyndall; grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Bursey. A memorial service will follow at a later date. The garage will never be the same...
