Joe “ Pepe” Luna
Jun 23, 1936 – Dec 4, 2024
Our handsome father Joe went home to be with Jesus on December 4, 2024. He passed at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Los Angeles on June 23, 1936. He moved to San Pedro as a young adult and made it his hometown until his death.
He worked for Todd Shipyard for many years and ultimately retired after working 25 years at Dicarlos Bakery. He loved working there and providing the city of San Pedro the wonderful smells of fresh baked french breads amongst many other hometown favorites.
Joe loved his family and his many life long friends. He was an avid bowler and bowled for many years at the San Pedro Bowling Alley. He loved watching tennis and loved watching the Dodgers, his favorite baseball team. Watching Shohei Ohtani’s history making 50-50 performance this year was a highlight. He loved horse racing and traveling to the casinos.
He is survived by daughters, Becky, Brenda, Tina, Terri (Falo), son, Joseph, sisters, Connie Carranza, Susie Florez, Rosie Luna and sister-in-law Janice Luna, Grandchildren Jennifer (Brandon), Anthony (Michelle), Raquel, Joshua, Ruben, Jacqueline (Scott), Candice (Brandon), Julie, Aaron, Tianna, Lyric and Falo, great-grandchildren, Mia, Arjay, Brandon, Mason, Brayden, Cash, Jaden, Ruby, Daniela, Dani and Casey.
