Joe was a true South Bay local. He was born at Torrance Memorial Hospital in 1936. As a child, he frolicked at Rat Beach, attended Torrance High school and resided in Rolling Hills Estates for most of his adult life. Joe passed away February 14, 2016.
Happily married for 54 years to his beautiful bride, Francine Lafferty. He is survived by his wife, Francine; children, Joey Lafferty and Bridgett Krause; his son in law, Marc Krause and his two grandchildren, Chris Briese and Ryan Krause; and his many friends and family that will miss him dearly.
Joe served in the U.S. Army as an Honor Guard in Washington D.C. before entering his 30 year career in the Aerospace industry working at TRW and Northrup Grumman. He enjoyed watching his son and grandsons play baseball with the dream and passion they would one day play for his beloved Anaheim Angels. He was also a diehard USC fan, always rooting for his team either in the stands or yelling at the television. Joe was a wonderful Ukulele player with a voice to follow. For many, he will be remembered by his world famous BBQ ribs, pool parties and his huge personality.
