Joseph Vincent Calafato, age 80, of Garden Grove, California, died Tuesday, July 27th with his wife and daughters by his side.

Born and raised in San Pedro, CA Joe graduated from San Pedro High School where he met his future wife, Sandy. Joe served in the U.S. Army and worked in the motion picture industry as a film lab technician for nearly 40 years with a brief stint as a truck driver in the 90’s. Resilient, hardworking and loyal he also enjoyed Dodgers baseball, trap shooting, hunting, pinochle at the Senior Center, metal detecting, travel and attending 100’s of children’s sport, graduation and other events.

Joe is survived by the love of his life, wife of 57 years, Sandra Calafato; daughters Deanna Sais & husband Robert, Andrea Howard & husband Gregory; grandchildren Amanda Littlejohn & husband James, Nicole Ogden & husband Donald, Cassandra Mador & husband Erik, Greg Howard Jr., Kyle Howard & wife Elizabeth; beloved great grandchildren Benjamin, Jimmie Anne, Sonora, Adelyn, Bennett and Quinn; his sisters Jackie Duffy & Frances Behrends and his nieces, cousins, friends and family.

A Memorial Service in his honor will be held on Thursday, August 19th, 11:30am at Green Hills Memorial Chapel. 27501 S. Western Ave. Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
