Jose Villalobos

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jose Villalobos, beloved father of two children, cherished friend, and devoted son & husband, who left us at the age of 78. Jose was born in the beautiful region of Jalisco, Mexico, and showed incredible courage when he immigrated to the United States in 1974. He initially made his home in Tijuana before eventually settling in Torrance, California, where he lived a life filled with responsibility and purpose.

Jose dedicated over 35 years of his life to the restaurant industry (El Paso Cantina), where his warm spirit, incredible work ethic, and genuine generosity made a lasting impact on colleagues and patrons alike. He was known for his friendly demeanor and the way he always went the extra mile to ensure others felt appreciated.

A man of many passions, Jose delighted in watching sports, especially baseball, which he played himself. He actively participated in 5K events, often embracing the Thanksgiving tradition of the Turkey Trot. Jose's athletic pursuits were a testament to his zest for life and his belief in the importance of community and health. As a father, Jose was a guiding light for his family. Summer days spent at Disneyland became treasured memories, where laughter and happiness surrounded him and his loved ones. Each Monday was a special family treat, a night out shared with joy at their favorite restaurants as he valued family togetherness above all. Always behind the wheel of his beloved Chevy Blazer— a thoughtful gift from his clients— Jose loved taking his family on adventures, helping his wife, and driving his kids to school.

Jose Villalobos will be deeply missed but always remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering support for those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, (especially his daughter Marisa who is an educator and his son Jose Carlos a government employee at the Federal Reserve Bank), friends, god-children (Arturo S, Rudy G & Evelia), and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 11 @ 2pm, at Green Hills Memorial, where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and share their fondest memories. The viewing & rosary will be held on Tuesday December 10 from 4-8 pm at Green Hills Memorial. Rest in peace, Jose Villalobos. Your warmth, strength, and laughter will echo through the lives you've touched forever.'

Con gran pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de José Villalobos, amado padre de dos hijos, querido amigo y devoto hijo y esposo, quien nos dejó a la edad de 78 años. José nació en la hermosa región de Jalisco, México, y mostró un coraje increíble cuando emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1974. Inicialmente estableció su hogar en Tijuana antes de establecerse en Torrance, California, donde vivió una vida llena de
responsabilidad y propósito.

José dedicó más de 35 años de su vida a la industria de los restaurantes (El Paso Cantina), donde su cálido espíritu, su increíble ética de trabajo y su genuina generosidad tuvieron un impacto duradero tanto en colegas como en clientes. Era conocido por su comportamiento amistoso y la forma en que siempre hacía un esfuerzo adicional para asegurarse de que los demás se sintieran apreciados.

Hombre de muchas pasiones, a José le encantaba ver deportes, especialmente béisbol, que él mismo jugaba. Participó activamente en eventos de 5K, a menudo adoptando la tradición del Día de Acción de Gracias del Maraton del Pavo. Las actividades atléticas de José fueron un testimonio de su entusiasmo por la vida y su creencia en la importancia de la comunidad y la salud.

Como padre, José fue una luz guía para su familia. Los días de verano que pasaba en Disneyland se convirtieron en recuerdos atesorados, donde las risas y la felicidad lo rodeaban a él y a sus seres queridos. Cada lunes era un regalo familiar especial, una noche compartida con alegría en sus restaurantes favoritos, ya que valoraba la unión familiar por encima de todo. Siempre detrás del volante de su amada Chevy Blazer, un regalo atento de sus clientes, a José le encantaba llevar a su familia a aventuras, ayudar a su esposa y llevar a sus hijos a la escuela.

Extrañaremos profundamente a José Villalobos, pero siempre lo recordaremos por su amabilidad, humor y apoyo inquebrantable a sus seres queridos. Su legado sigue vivo en los corazones de su familia, (especialmente en su hija Marisa que es educadora y su hijo José Carlos en un empleado del gobierno en el Banco de la Reserva Federal), amigos, ahijados (Arturo S, Rudy G y Evelia), y todos aquellos que tuvieron la suerte de conocerlo.

Un servicio conmemorativo se llevará a cabo el miércoles 11 de diciembre @ 2pm, en Green Hills Memorial, donde familiares y amigos están invitados a celebrar su vida y compartir sus mejores recuerdos. El velorio y rosario se llevará a cabo el martes 10 de diciembre de 4 a 8 pm en Green Hills Memorial.
