John Sola

Our dearly beloved Father, Son, Brother and friend has been promoted from guarding the gates of South High to guarding the gates of Heaven. John grew up in Wilmington where he attended Wilmington Jr. High and Banning High School, was a resident of San Pedro, and worked in Torrance at South High School. John had a heart of gold, was full of emotion, and would do anything for anyone he came in contact with. John was a friend to all who crossed his path and always had a nickname for everyone. John did not lose his battle with cancer, he beat it. He didn't let his disease stop him from living life the way most of us wish we could - HIS way - to the fullest and without regrets.
John lives on through the two lights of his life, his daughters, Julie Sola and Justine (Danny) Rivera whom he loved more than life itself. He will also be missed by his best friend and constant loyal companion, his Dawg, "Lilo". He is also survived by his 102 year old Grandmother Georgia Acebedo, his mother Patty Gutierrez, his brother Jim (Bell) Sola, his sisters Trish (Patrick) Jaramillo, Jo Ann (Tony) del Valle, Gina Gutierrez and Tina Sola, and his extended family members and an abundance of friends.
John was loved, appreciated, and supported by many including his family, friends, and the staff and students South High School.

Services:
Visitation will he held on Thursday April 24 from 5-9 and Funeral Service will be Saturday April 26 at 3pm, interment to follow. Both services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel 27501 S. Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275
