John Carl Grosso

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Carl Grosso on April 22, 2018 at the age of 60. John was born to Carl and Rose Grosso in 1957. John leaves behind Margaret, his loving wife of 18 years, stepchildren Carolyn and Stuart Hager, sisters Patti (Paul) Emory and Kathy (Larry) Grey, nieces and nephews Jennifer (William) Bye, Brian Emory, and Steven and Samantha Grey. John graduated from Miraleste High School in 1975. Following graduation, he worked as a mechanic for the San Pedro Cab Company and Avis for several years before becoming an ILWU Longshoreman and crane operator. John had many friends and is well known for giving everyone a silly nickname. John’s favorite hobbies included riding and collecting motorcycles, and 4x4 trucks. John also loved music; his all-time favorite band was The Beatles. John is loved by all, and he will be deeply missed. There will be a viewing held on Monday, April 30, 2018 between 4:30-8:30 PM with a rosary service at 6:30 at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Green Hills Memorial Chapel at 11:30 AM with burial services to follow. Please dress in casual attire such as Hawaiian shirts for the services.
