John Alfred Dunn

John Alfred Dunn was born March 27, 1958 to Stanley L. Dunn and Marlene B. Dunn in Torrance. He attended Riviera Elementary School and was part of the first class to attend Richardson Middle School. He graduated from South Torrance High School in 1976. John (J.A.) studied Business at USC and graduated in 1980. He was a lifelong LA Dodgers fan and Trojan football fan. After college, he worked in sales for the family business: Dunn Bros. Commercial Printers. He decided to go back to Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Western State University in 1988. He practiced law in Long Beach. J.A. assisted his mother for many years in Torrance and again in Seal Beach. His favorite pastime was watching the horses run at the Race Track, especially Los Alamitos. He died peacefully from lung cancer on October 19, 2018. He is survived by his sister, Theresa Bateman, his brothers, Bob and Mike Dunn, his goddaughter, Breanna Bateman, his nephews, Brett Bateman and John Dunn, and his nieces, Jaqueline, Alex, Stephanie, and Natalie Dunn. The Rosary service will be Thursday, November 8, 2018, 7:00 PM, at Green Hills Mortuary. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 9, 2018, 10:30 AM at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in San Pedro.
