John Francis Duffy

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved, John Francis Duffy, who died peacefully on June 5th, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family.

John, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle, is survived by his best friend and wife, Maureen O’Brien Duffy, his seven children, John, Michael, Thomas, Kathleen, Carolyn, Addison, and Brennan, his siblings, Rusty, Anne and Mark. And his fourteen grandchildren.

John was born on April 27th, 1949 to Charles (Pete) Duffy and Rosemary Edminster Duffy in Joplin, MO and was the third of six children.

Residing in Palos Verdes Estates, John and Maureen created a home filled with warmth, love, and the lively presence of their three Weimaraners. His home was a sanctuary where family gatherings were frequent, filled with laughter, dancing, stories and fires in the fireplaces. These cherished memories and traditions will continue to be upheld. John’s life was a testament to love; family was at the heart of his life.

John Duffy will be deeply missed but remembered with love and admiration by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His legacy of love will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations to come.

He is now joined again with his family in heaven, including his mother Rosemary Edminster, his father Charles "Pete"Duffy, his sisters Margaret and Elizabeth, his best friend John Bell and many, many dogs.

A memorial service will be held to honor his remarkable life at St. Francis Church in Palos Verdes Estates at 11:00 a.m. June 18th 2024 followed by a burial at Green Hills Cemetery and a reception to follow.
