John Mark Cvitanich

John Cvitanich, a life-long resident of San Pedro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the age of 76. He was born on November 15, 1937 to parents Marko and Minnie Cvitanich in San Pedro, CA. John was a proud Longshoreman for over 21 years with ILWU Local 13, and he was a Marine Clerk with ILWU Local 63 for 15 years until he retired in December 1999. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Catherine in 1996. He is survived by his sons Mark Cvitanich and Anthony (Nancy) Cvitanich of San Pedro, granddaughters Kyra and Kiley Cvitanich, Sister Kay (Nello) Saggiani, Brothers Mark (Sally) Cvitanich and Jack Cvitanich, along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, July 21st from 3 – 8 PM at Green Hills Mortuary and Tuesday, July 22nd from 5 – 9 PM at Green Hills Chapel. A rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, July 23rd at 9:00 AM at Green Hills Chapel with interment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
