Joe Tabera

Joe Tabera, 76, of San Pedro, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday July 19th at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Joe is survived by his sons Joseph (Lilean) Tabera and Jim (Maribel) Bautista, step daughters Lisa Soto, Tina Hernandez, and Dolores Ruiz, brother Leonard (Helen) Tabera, and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Joe was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all. Joe was born on January 28th, 1939 in Santa Paula, California but spent most of his childhood and all of his adult years in San Pedro, California, a city that held a special place in his heart. Joe loved being around family and friends. Watching his grandchildren participate in youth sports was a special time for him. Watching them grow and become successful made him very proud. Poker nights with his buddies or shooting pool with fellas was always a good time. The simple pleasures of life, watching a game with his son or grandson, a barb que and a cold beer, or just helping one of his children or grandchildren fix their car made him happy. Anything, within his means, he would do for his family and friends. Joe will always be remembered as the loving, caring and hard working father and grandfather he was. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 30th at lpm at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
