Mendoza, Joe Luis passed away February 16, 2016 with his family by his side after suffering from a long illness. Joe was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and lived in the South Bay area for most of his life. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Margaret and his daughter Teresa. Joe is survived by his children Joey (Melissa), Michael (Diana), Catherine, and Kelly, grandchildren Emily, Daniel, Julia, Ray, Michael, Matthew and Anthony and one great-grandchild, Anthony Jr.
Joe was a lifelong resident of the South Bay and a retired truck driver for McDonald Douglas. Joe coached Pop Warner and Carson High Football for many years. He enjoyed working with the kids teaching and mentoring them on and off the field. Joe was also an avid fisherman. Either on the Lake or the Ocean, there was never bad day fishing with his family and friends. Joe's favorite place to be was in the kitchen cooking something up for his family. Whether it was his famous meatloaf, homemade salsa or holiday meals it was all cooked with love. Joe truly loved his family, and he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be at Green Hills Mortuary and Memorial Chapel Friday, February 26th from 5:00-9:00. Memorial services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel Saturday February 27th at 1:00.
