Joe A. Hernandez

Joe Hernandez, 87, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on December 9, 2016. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and wife Nellie Guadalupe Hernandez. Joe was born on April 7th 1929, in Miami, Arizona. At about 4 years old moved back to Mexico with his parents, returning to the US at 18 years of age. He met his wife Nellie in El Paso, Texas. They later moved to California to raise their 3 children. Joe loved his family very much, working hard to always care for them while teaching his children a deep sense of family and work ethic. Joe enjoyed people, being very sociable, kind, and humorous. He would always say that family and friends are the most important things in life and should take priority. This is one of the most important values that he taught us and will remain in our minds. Joe is survived by daughter Susan Brown, son Joe Hernandez Jr., son Andrew Hernandez, stepdaughter Linda Rodriguez; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends. We will miss him dearly, but his memory will always remain in our hearts. Viewings will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes on Thursday, December 15th from 3pm - 8pm in the Malaga suite and Friday December 16th from 3pm - 8pm in the cove suite. Funeral services will be held at the Historic Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, December 17th at 3pm immediately followed by interment.
