Jack Amador was born in San Francisco, CA, and passed away in Long Beach CA at the Long Beach Veteran’s Hospital at the age of 73. He is preceded in death by his mother, Armida Jean Amador and his father, Alexander Rudolph Amador. He is survived by his siblings Alex Amador, Robert Amador, Alexis Amador Marrero, Delilah Brown, and Debra de la Rosa. He was a beloved son, loved brother, wonderful uncle and great-uncle who offered a huge smile and kind words to all he encountered. Jack attended CA schools in San Francisco and San Pedro, graduating from San Pedro High School like his mother along with several nieces and nephews. After graduation, he was employed at Ports O’ Call Village and held employment in several areas, from warehouseman to driving a Palos Verdes shuttle until attending electrician training at Harbor Occupational Center. He joined the US Army during the Vietnam War, and served from 1968-1971. Eventually, Jack retired while employed for a security company. During his lifetime, he was as an avid model plane builder, Beatle fan, and sports enthusiast following the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He enjoyed 40s Big Band and Mariachi music, classical movies, air shows, PBS and especially savored Mexican cuisine. He was a voracious history buff, specifically U.S. history, concentrating on wars and government. His family will miss his sweet and patient manner. They will miss his loving care and eagerness to listen. They will miss their Uncle Jack.
