Joanne Louise Antall

Jody was born March 18, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away Sunday January 27, 2013 in Rancho Palos Verdes. She moved to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in 1965 with her parents, William and Evelyn Antall. Joanne graduated from Miraleste High school, UCLA, and Long Beach State University School of Nursing. She graduated with honors from all of these institutions. She began her career as a Nurse Practitioner working in San Pedro at Core Health Care and was also a lecturer for the nursing school at Long Beach State. She also worked for a number of years at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in the Department of Clinical Education. Joanne was a member of Delta Zeta sorority and many other professional organizations. She loved needle-work, beading, and other craft projects. Traveling was also one of her passions, as was the study of history. She will forever be missed by her family and close friends.
Jody is survived by sister and brother-in-law Karen and Gary Idell, niece Megan Idell and nephew Adam Idell and his family, Soccorro and her most-treasured great-nephew Tyler. She is also survived by one aunt and several cousins. Jody also was loved by her "furry children" Hershey, Snickers and Sophie.
Services will be held at the Neighborhood Church, 415 Paseo Del Mar, Palos Verdes Estates, on Saturday February 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM. As Joanne was a 30 year cancer survivor, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
