Joann Ferrin was welcomed to Heaven on June 19, 2018 after a productive, caring and energetic life. Born to John and Charlotte Concelman in Pittsburgh, PA on April 15, 1930, she later moved to Ca with her family in her teen years. She graduated from Narbonne H S in Lomita in 1947 and worked for Pacific Telephone as a switchboard operator prior to the advent of automated dialing. In 1950, she met and married Ray Ferrin and they called Lomita their home. The family enjoyed an abundant life of camping trips, home projects, family dinners and celebrations. Cruising and international travel followed. A pursuit of creative hobbies was evident throughout her lifetime: knitting, sewing, quilting, specialty Christmas décor, doll making and card making to name a few. Attention to detail contributed to her successful career for many decades as a bookkeeper in the automotive industry. Crossword puzzles and playing bridge with local groups challenged and inspired her. We all remember her hospitality; inviting others into her home for warm gatherings. Service to others was highlighted in her years as a Scout leader and various projects through Christ Lutheran Church where she was an active member. She leaves behind her children Rayeann Kliss (Gary), Ralph Ferrin (Connie) and Kathleen Jimenez (Bruce); 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ray, her parents and her sister Delores. She will remain forever in our hearts. A Memorial Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 30th at the Legacy Lake of Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Christ Lutheran, 28850 S Western Ave, Rancho PV, CA 90275
