Joan Claire Jani-Mimms

Joan Claire Jani-Mimms was born in San Jose, California on October 7, 1934 to Irving Elisha Chapman and Thelma Elizabeth Chapman and went to meet her personal Lord and Savior on May 5, 2024. Joan had one sibling, the late Susanne Campbell.

Joan is survived by her husband, Lee Stafford Mimms, and her two children, Joy Jani Hawley (the late Willard Prescott Hawley IV), and Jeffrey Scott Jani (Jill Susanne Jani), and five grandchildren, Dr. Ariel Joy Hawley, Willard Prescott Hawley V (Katherine Marie Hawley), Rachel Cristine Jani, Parker Jefferson Jani, and Savanna Jillian Jani, who lovingly referred to her as “Muffy.”

Joan lived in Palos Verdes Estates, California for fifty-five years before moving to Rancho Mission Viejo in May 2019.

There will be a Memorial Service held at the Memorial Chapel at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes where Joan will be interned next to her first husband of thirty-three years, the late Robert Frank Jani.
