It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmy Ruelas announces his passing on Tuesday, November 27 2018. Jimmy will be forever loved and remembered by Melissa, his wife of 23 years, and his children Stephanie and Justin.
Jimmy was born in Los Angeles to his parents James and Rose Ruelas. Jimmy was also pre-deceased by his sister Lupe. He is also survived by his brother Manuel and sister Lorraine and well as many nieces and nephews.
At 19 years old, he joined the army and became military police, stationed in Panama. In 1986 he met his wife while both were working for Budweiser. He then moved to San Pedro where they were married.
He made many friends in the 20+ years he was working as a truck driver for Budweiser and then Miller Brands. He became a Longshoreman 18 years ago and loved working the “hoot” shift. Jimmy was known for his sense of humor and his ability to talk to anyone and everyone.
He loved the outdoors whether it was the mountains, the desert or the ocean, and loved taking drives to all of them. He also loved his 2 Chihuahuas, Chiquita and Rico Suave, and they were always included in the outings, and he loved spoiling them.
Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel.
