Jean M. Griffith

Jean, the daughter of Arthur and Ellen Bartlett, was born September 26, 1923 in Long Beach, California and passed away peacefully at her oldest son's home on Friday, March 27, 2015 in Lomita, California.

Jean lived in southern California her whole life, and was a stay home Mom, raising her 5 kids. She was a caring person who would help anyone that needed help, providing a warm home cooked meal, a place to lay their head, and friendship. She made our home the place where all of the neighborhood kids would come to play, hang out, and eat. Everyone loved to stay for dinner, especially her spaghetti or Spanish rice with pork chops!!!

Later in life, she loved to take an occasional road trip to Las Vegas with her youngest son Richard and his best friend Darby, whom Jean considered her daughter. Jean also join the senior center there in Harbor City and made many friends playing bingo and attending an occasional pot luck. She loved telling her one liner jokes to her friends and making them laugh. She was a wonderful person, a good friend, and most of all…. an Awesome Mom!!!

She was preceded in death by Royce, the love of her life and husband over 65 years. Jean is survived by her five children, Sandra (Steve) Pierce, Jimmy (Angel) Griffith, Martha Moorman, Edward Griffith and Richard (Darby) Griffith; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation for Ms. Griffith will be on Thursday, April 2nd from 10:00 – 8:00 PM in the Malaga Suite. The Graveside Service will be the following morning on Friday at 10:00 AM.
