Jasmine Wu, daughter of Jeff and Vicky Wu was born October 29th, 2011 in Arcadia, CA.
She has been a bundle of joy. Her smile is infectious and her attitude towards life exemplified
what God would call perfection. Jasmine had many names all of which she recognized, Choo-Choo, New-New, Baby, and JJ. She would laugh and giggle when you laughed. She would shine her famous smile if you said "SMILE!"
Jasmine was born with a rare congenital heart defect called TAPVR. Her courage and strength to push through two surgeries was truly an inspiration that even her medical providers referred to her as a "miracle." She spent half of her life at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where she welcomed and melted the hearts of those who came in contact with her. The rest of her time she lent to her Mom and Dad which she drank up with joy and giggles. She thoroughly enjoyed listening to Mozart and other classical works as well as the silly songs that Mommy and Daddy made for her.
For someone so young, its hard to believe she has touched so many people with her HEART. Although she physically had issues, spiritually she was perfect. For her, I strove to be the best father I could be. I wanted to be her Hero, but in hindsight she was our Hero. She survived two major heart surgeries and beat the odds when the surgeons said there was little chance of her pulling through. She waved her arms and smiled when we called her "Champion Baby!" For Jasmine we wanted to make our world a better place for her. Through her life rose our Faith in God. Through her passing we are comforted that our daughter helped us embrace His gift of eternal comfort. She always found a way to make Mommy
and Daddy proud. Although her care was exhausting her smile or laugh always rejuvenated our spirits. It's those moments we will thirst for until we are all together again in Heaven.
We will always remember our beloved New New, so new, so Angelic. We know she is smiling down on
us now with the Lord in Heaven.
Services will be held Saturday at Green Hills Memorial Park on Western Ave in Rancho Palos Verdes.
Anyone wishing to leave a memorial in her honor may contribute to Jeffrey Wu & Vicky Liang or directly
to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (HEART Institute) in Memory of Jasmine Wu. Funds directed to Jeff and Vicky will be used to make a donation to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles that will be matched by their employers. Jeff and Vicky intend to donate their time and efforts to raise awareness about congenital heart defects and aid in the support of other parents who have special children like Jasmine.
