Janet D. Halliday

Janet Dorothy Thomas Halliday, 91, passed away on June 4, 2013 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Janet was born October 6, 1921 to Cecil and Minnie Thomas in Long Beach, California. She graduated from San Pedro High School in San Pedro, CA.
Janet married Robert T. Halliday in 1945, and in that union they had one daughter, Colleen. They were later divorced. Janet was a very successful Real Estate Broker for over 40 years in California. Janet enjoyed working with her hands. She learned to sew and knit when she was a child. Later in life she took up needlepoint, and belonged to ANG (American Needlepoint Guild) and EGA (Embroiders' Guild of America).
Janet is survived by her daughter Colleen Wilson (Clark), Grandsons Michael Acosta (Amber), Robert Blaylock, Granddaughter Michelle Ecklund (John), 8 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren, Brother, Donald Thomas (Peggy), Sister, Betty Van Acker and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Janet is preceded in death by her parents Cecil & Minnie, Brothers LaRue, Kenneth and Gerald Thomas, sister, Eloise Thomas, and Great Granddaughter, Jade Lynne Glenn.
A visitation will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah on Saturday June 8, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Southern California on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Greenhills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
