James Burl Rollins Iii

Jimmy passed away peacefully on February 3 at the age of 70. He was the son of James Burl Rollins Jr. and Betty Rollins. Jimmy was born Dec. 23, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA.
Jimmy attended White Point Elementary School, Dana Junior High and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1961 where he was a member of the gymnastics team.
He immediately joined the Navy where he worked as an electrician. He traveled the world and served time in Vietnam.
Later, Jimmy attended Harbor College and UCLA. Jimmy eared a degree in Quality Control Engineering at UCLA.
Jimmy married the love of his life, Rainey Miladinovich June 6, 1970 at Holy Trinity. He was employed at Garret AiResearch and Hughes Aircraft for several years. In his leisure time Jimmy enjoyed writing, building model airplanes, swimming and enjoying his family and friends. Jimmy and Rainey both loved their time vacationing in Hawaii.
Jimmy will be greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Rainey Rollins, his mother in law, Dolly Ketchum, his sister, Linda Rollins Durham of Portland, OR, and all members of his extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Clearview, an Alzheimer's facility, for all the wonderful loving care the entire staff gave to Jimmy for the past ten years.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00pm at Green Hills Mortuary.
Services are planned for Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at 11:00 at Green Hills Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jimmy's name to Clearview, Alzheimer's Care Facility, 15823 S Western Ave., Gardena 90247.
