James Robert Price

April 3, 1943 — July 31, 2022

James (Jim) Robert Price, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday July 31, 2022. Jim was born on April 3, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Narbonne High School, where he ran track. During the Vietnam War, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as an Aerospace Medical Service Technician. He was very patriotic, loved his country and was proud of his military service. Jim worked for Northrop Grumman for 50 years. He started out in the mail room and worked his way up to an Aerospace Engineer and retired as an Aerospace Project Manager. During his time at Northrop Grumman he worked on mobile laser projects, managed setting up remote satellites, and worked on the Apollo Space Program. Jim lived a very active lifestyle. His passion was sailing. The ocean brought Jim immeasurable sense of peace and he enjoyed sharing his passion with his family and friends. Whether he was sailing to Catalina Island or having dock parties at the marina with his friends, Jim was in his element when he was by the ocean. He enjoyed everything about nature from trees to birds. He also loved to travel. Jim and Sandra traveled everywhere from Tahiti to Alaska to Hawaii. One thing all places had in common when they traveled together was the ocean. Jim is predeceased by his mother; Marjorie Hayworth. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Price; daughters Leandria Hancock and Kelsey Knudsen; grandchildren Tristan Ramirez and Kenzy Wildish; sons-in-law Brad Hightower and Brandon Wildish; and his cat Abby, named after Abby from NCIS ( his favorite TV show). He will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California , on Monday August 8, 2022, at 11:30am, followed by a graveside Military service. A celebration of life and luncheon will follow the service at the family home.
