On Friday, February 3, James C. Piatt, a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at the age of 79.
James was born on June 29, 1943, to Cecil and Madelon Piatt in St. Clair, Michigan. The youngest of three children, James' life was always full of adventure. One of his earliest adventures was in July 1955, when he was 12-years-old, and his family moved to California. This move wasn't even close to the last time James would explore a new place, filled with the unbridled spirit of a true adventurer.
After graduating from Mark Keppel High School, James set his eyes on making an impact on the world. From being a U.S. Customs Inspector, to traveling to various countries around the world, James continued to live a life full of adventure, making friends all across the globe, wherever he went. Though he was quite devoted to his career and has been surrounded by countless coworkers who have applauded and appreciated him throughout the years, the biggest legacy he leaves behind and his greatest admirers are his family.
As the Patriarch of the Piatt's, James was truly the center of his family. Sparking funny conversations, telling endless stories of his travels, and bringing his family together over delicious food, his house was a home to which his entire extended family always gravitated. His love for life and his family was truly palpable, and his smiles and laughter were a constant reminder of his amazing spirit.
James’ legacy continues to live on through those he leaves behind, and his stories will be shared with the generations to come. James is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Piatt; his sister, Nancy Tosch; his children, Richard (& May) Piatt, Kim ( & Jerry) Waskom, Pearl Piatt (& Glen Price), James (& Stephanie) Piatt, and Natalie Piatt; grandchildren: Bryan (& Norianne) Piatt, Amanda (& JR) Ayotte, Lauren Piatt, Abbey Piatt Price, Trevor Waskom, Isabelle Piatt, Emily Piatt, and Cece Piatt; and his three great grandchildren: JT Ayotte, Logan Ayotte, and Leo Piatt; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. This list of James’ biggest fans is just a short list of the people whose lives he has positively impacted over the years.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the Celebration of James’ Life.
