On December 26, James Irvine joined his beloved wife Evelyn and son Jason in eternal life. Surrounded by his sons, Mark and Wayne and daughter Andrea he passed peacefully, carrying with him the love of his family and all those who were blessed to have known him.
Born in Belfast Ireland on March 22, 1930, Jim immigrated to Canada before settling in Southern California. In Redondo he built a beautiful life with his wife and raised his 4 children who gave to him 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Ireland remained the root of Jim’s vibrant being and was the tune in his heart to which he always sang. The chorus of his voice was one of the many joys of being in Jim’s presence and his songs will ring in our ears evermore.
Jim’s contagious laugh could cure all bouts of seriousness and laughing at himself was one of his most enviable qualities. A speed reader, runner, world traveler and eternal student, Jim quite literally danced his way through life. James Irvine was an outstanding father, husband, papa and friend whose life will be celebrated through the memories of those who loved him.
Jim’s family would like to honor his passing through the continued research of Alzheimer’s disease and in memory of his great grandson Wylder, support for a cure of Neimann Pick disease. Please consider making a donation to the following organizations:
