James Lawrence Chambers

James Lawrence "Jim" Chambers, November 1, 1942 – January 22, 2012. He was born in Peoria IL but had resided in Torrance, CA for the last 28 years and was called home to our Lord.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Chambers, his son Lawrence "Larry" Chambers, his daughter Andrea Chambers, and grand-daughter Mikayla Portillo. Jim loved country music, loved to watch sports, especially basketball (Lakers) and football, enjoyed fishing and was involved with his church and was a member of the Lions Club.
He loved to be surrounded by friends and family, his house was always open for everyone to come in.
We will miss Jim dearly and he will live forever in our hearts. If anyone wants to donate then please donate to cancer in memory of James Chambers.
Viewing will be Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 from 9am until 1pm at the mortuary. Graveside services will follow at 2pm in Green Hills Memorial Park.
There will be an open celebration of Jim's life on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 4pm at the Torrance Church of the Nazarene, 700 Maple Ave, Torrance, CA 90503.
