Isauro "Urong" Ragudo

Isauro Refales Ragudo, 89, beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and loyal friend, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 12:52am at Kaiser Hospital on Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles. He was born on December 25, 1925, in Laoag City, Philippines, to Galicano Rafales and Perpetua Ragudo. Isauro remained in the Philippines until he reached the age of 18, when he left his family in search of work to support them. It was during his time in Hawaii when he met his wife, of 61 years, Monica Beralas. They were engaged before he was soon drafted into the U.S. army to fight in the Korean War. He was known as a Korean War hero, and received a Silver Star medal and a commendation ribbon and pin for his bravery. After he received his medals, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Isauro was a very soft-spoken, reserved kind of man, whom everybody seemed to gravitate towards. He was a loving, gentle, kind-hearted man who spoke nothing but words of wisdom. He is preceded by his parents, Galicano Refales and Perpetua Ragudo, his brother, Rafael Ragudo, and sister, Feliza Ragudo. He is survived by his wife, Monica Ragudo, his sons, Arthur Ragudo and Danilo Ragudo, his daughters, Rowena Powell and Fay Lindenberg, his grandchildren, Jennifer Segovia, Karin, Kelli Ragudo, Kristopher Matias, Brett Wood, and Stefani Lindenberg, and his great grandchildren, Lea Segovia, Joshua Segovia, Haven Segovia, and Hayden Avila-Wood. Isauro Ragudo was truly an honorable man, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The legacy he has left behind in American history will be felt for generations to come.
