Isabelo “Belong” Garcia, 80 years old, of Torrance, California passed away, Saturday February 6, 2021 at Kaiser Medical Center. A viewing will be held Green Hills Memorial Park, March 30 at 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Father Xavier Dsouza will be officiating. Burial will follow on Wednesday, March 31 at 2:00 PM.
Isabelo Garcia was born July 8, 1940 in Kalinga Province, Philippines. He graduated in 1960 from Feati University in Manila with Mechanical Engineering Degree. On May 24, 1968 he married his soulmate, Thelma Giron in Saint Williams Cathedral. Isabelo migrated to the United State in 1984 hoping for better opportunities. He was hard working and was employed in several jobs at once, including The Daily Breeze and other federal companies. Isabelo petitioned his family from the Philippines and was able to bring them to America in 1988. Isabelo was skillfull in auto-mechanics and enjoyed gardening in his spare time, as well as watching basketball games with his favorite team, The Lakers. He was blessed with a big family and loved spending time with them and taking care of his grandchildren. Isabelo had a gentle soul and was known to be kind, loving and generous to the people around him. He will surely be missed by his loved ones.
Isabelo is survived by his son, Ericson Garcia; his 3 daughters, Ethel Grace Garcia Camacho, Arlynne Garcia Smalls, and Jennifer Garcia Balansi; his wife Thelma Giron Garcia; and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Susana and Pedro Garcia.
