Irene A. Montano

Irene Avila Montano, born November 1938, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2013. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Irene was a lifetime resident of San Pedro. She was known for her amazing hospitality and kindness to others. Even in her last days she put the needs of others before herself. Irene will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Irene is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul R. Montano and her sister, Dolores Avila Ortega. She is survived by her younger sister Julia Quirarte and her six children, Cynthia (Frank), Alejandro(Kara), Reynaldo (Jen), Louise, Angel (Francisca), Paul (Lala) and her stepson, Paul, 21 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Rosary Vigil/Viewing will be held at Green Hills Mortuary Chapel, 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, Friday, August 16, 2013 at 7 p.m. Mass at St. Peters Catholic Church, 575 W. O'Farrel Street, San Pedro, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. Burial at Green Hills Mortuary.
