Ion Rusu was born on 11.03.1937 in Romania. He lost his battle with prostate cancer on 10.02.2014. In 1960 he married Elena. Through their marriage they had two children, Argentina and Adrian. They lost Adrian when he was only an infant. That experience sealed their relationship in love and care for what was to become a beautiful and strong family that lasted 54 years.
Ion welcomed Dan in his family, not as a son in law but as a son and in the years to follow he dedicated his life to his granddaughters, Ioana and Alina. He was with them from their first steps to their driving tests and through the last happy event when Ioana married Vlad only six weeks ago. In Romania he worked as a section manager supervising 150 people-he managed people always as an example. Out of love for his family he agreed to immigrate to United States as a fresh retiree in Romania. Here he worked for another 14 years at Garner Management as a handyman. Knowing very little English was not an impediment for John (his American name) – he communicated through his honesty, modesty and hard work. For those close to him, Ion was so much more, he was an artist who loved to paint and listen to classical music. He liked to read and watch documentaries and of course he loved to repair everything!
Ion will always be in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. Services will take place at the Green Hills Memorial Park as follows:
