Hong Goo Ahn

Hong Goo Ahn, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2025 in Torrance, California, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on February 28, 1947, in Taegu, South Korea, to Jong Ha Ahn and So Nam Kim. He excelled academically and became a physician after completing medical school in 1975, all while supporting his family. Shortly after, Hong immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, USA, to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine with the hope of building a better life for himself and his family. By luck, he also met Young Soon Kim in this same city, to whom he eventually married February 18, 1979. They both eventually settled into Southern California with their two children since 1984.
Hong lived a life marked by compassion, integrity, hard work, and selflessness. He dedicated his life to being the best son, sibling, husband, father, and grandfather. He touched many lives in the career he truly loved as a physician over 50 years. Achieving all the dreams he set out in life, he found the world and life he lived as heaven on earth.
He is survived by his wife, Young Soon Ahn, children Michelle and Eric Ahn, and grandchildren Atlas Bridgman and Tyler Ahn, who will always cherish his memory and carry forward his legacy.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday June 8th, 2025 at 10:00am at Green Hills Memorial Park. Family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate his life and share memories.
He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered always.
