Hilda "Gigi" Sherwood

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Hilda “Gigi” Sherwood. Born January 20, 1943, in Harbor City, California, Gigi passed on September 26, 2024, at the age of 81. She was a lifetime resident of San Pedro.

Gigi was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leonard Sherwood, and her son, Robert Lawrence Sherwood. She leaves behind three children: David Vance, Sally Vaughn (John), Jeannie Vukotic (Martin), and daughter-in-law Lisa Sherwood (Robert).

In addition to her children, Gigi leaves behind a large and loving family. She is survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each a testament to the love and joy she brought into their lives. She also leaves behind numerous friends and extended family, and her beloved dog, Benjamin.

Gigi was a vibrant soul who cherished an active social life. She was a proud member of the San Pedro Elks Lodge and several local senior clubs. Her love for dancing was unparalleled, and she will be dearly missed on the dance floor.

Services will be held on October 17, 2024 at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, at 11:30 am, followed by interment.
