Henry "Murphy" Zbojniewicz
February 17th 1920 - August 23rd 2012
Raise your glass, whisper "na zdrowie!", and toast a life well lived.
Those left behind will cherish the soul of a philosopher, the wisdom of
a professor, the love of a father, grandfather, brother, son and
husband. The consummate gardener has left his soil well-tended, every
flower named, every tomato with its rightful owner.
We shared countless peaceful moments and witnessed his deep
appreciation of life's simplest treasures: the flight of birds, the art
of listening, the power of vocabulary, the long slow sip of a fine
scotch, a steady smoke ring and the comforting sound of family and
friends laughing. His wit was immense, second only to his kindness.
In his own words, he was God's happy man. The favor returned, for it
is God who is happy now.
Murphy leaves behind Mary, his wife of 58 years; brother Chet;
daughters Danielle (Roger), Deborah (Paul), Deidre (Steve), Donna (Scott): sons Daniel (Molly) and David (Laima);
grandchildren Christen (Buzz), Christopher, Colin, Caitlin, Caroline,
Elizabeth, Adrianne, Jessica, Jeffrey, Jillian, Lindsay, Megan (his angel in heaven), Emily, Abby and
Darius.
