Henrietta Jean Terrell

Jean, the daughter of Alge and Henrietta Collins Sr. was born May 8, 1945 in Austin, Texas and passed away peacefully in her home on April 16, 2012 in Harbor City, California with her family by her side. Jean is survived by Melvin, the love of her life, best friend and husband of 46 years; her two devoted sons, Shawn Lance Terrell(Novella Bland), Michael Collins Terrell(Lisa Terrell); three grandchildren Shawn Terrell Jr., Anisa Terrell and Brandon Terrell Lee; her goddaughter, Theresa Lee Hatch (Charlie Hatch), sisters: Donnie Breedlove(Frank Breedlove), Carrie Holmes(Zan Holmes Jr.); brother Alge Collins Jr.(Lavern Collins) and sisters-in-law: Joyce Collins(Jim Collins, deceased), Sylvia Alyce Collins(Wright Collins, deceased); nieces, nephews, other Collins family, dear friends and all the many who found her to be a nurturing and guiding support in their lives. The Interment for Mrs. Terrell will be at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 21st at Green Hills Memorial Park and the Memorial Service will be held same day at 10:00 a.m. at the Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles located at 3320 W. Adams. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 – 8:00 in the Villetta Room at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes.
