Helen Walsh

December 9, 1926 — May 16, 2017

Helen was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio. She was a graduate of University of Cincinnati. While attending college she became a member of Phi Kappa Epsilon Sorority and Delta Mu Delta Fraternity, both scholastic organizations.

Helen joined Graphic Arts Employment Service Inc. when the business opened it's doors in Cincinnati in 1952. She began as office manager, progressed to business manager and upon the company's incorporation in 1960, she was promoted to vice president and general manager. Much of the firm's growth and success was owed to Helen.

Helen served as president of the Cincinnati Private Employment Service Assn. in 1959 and as president of the Ohio Private Employment Service Assn. in 1960. In this latter capacity, she was the youngest trustee and president ever to serve the group. Helen served six years on the advisory board of Ohio's Department of Commerce, Division of Licensing. She also served a two year term as director of the Cincinnati Advertisers Club.

Helen met her husband, Irv, at a Printing Convention, and they married in 1968. Shortly after, they moved to Rancho Palos Verdes where they lived in the same house for the duration of their lives. While in RPV, Helen obtained her Real Estate license and bought and sold houses with Irv. She retained her license for almost 30 years.

Helen was an avid tennis player. She and Irv joined the Jack Kramer Tennis Club where they both served on the Board. Helen played competitively for many years. Many of their closest friendships were formed there.

Later in life, Helen and Irv traveled extensively all over the world. Most of their traveling was enjoyed onboard a cruise ship. They would often serve as tour guides on the cruise, welcoming passengers and hosting social gatherings.

Helen loved theater, cooking, sewing, but most of all she loved her dogs.

Helen is survived by her niece Laura Carrigan (Bill), nephew Daniel Winters (Shyrl), great niece Karen Graham (Craig) and great nephew Christopher Stover.

Helen's Memorial Service will be held on June 1 at 11:30 at Rolling Hills Covenant Church, North Campus in Rolling Hills Estates.
