March 1, 1945 — July 24, 2024

Helen T. Redaja was born in Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines on March 1, 1945 to Bienvenido and Dolores Trinidad. She was the oldest of 7 siblings.

In 1966, she graduated with a degree in nursing in the Philippines. That same year, she met her loving husband, Ricardo, at work. They got married in Canada in 1969. In 1981, Helen and Ricardo Jr. immigrated to California with their 2 daughters. In 1985, their son was born.

Helen was loving, kind, generous, supportive, thoughtful, happy-go-lucky, strong, resilient, and a fantastic cook. She possessed a beautiful smile and an exuberant laugh. Helen was a matriarch to more than just her immediate family. She played a very impactful role to many relatives. Helen believed that anything can be achieved with hard work and determination. She gave great advice and through her love and sacrifices, she was able to help many attend college which led them to be successful professionals. Her legacy lives on in her children as well as countless others.

Helen is survived by her two children, Jonathan and Rosanna, her son-in-law, Myron, and her grandson, Mason. She is now reunited with her husband, Ricardo Jr., her daughter, Richelle, and her dog, Tiara, in God’s warm embrace.
