Helen Alice Moore

March 29, 1934 — June 11, 2025

Helen Moore, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was born March 29th, 1934, and she peacefully departed this life on June 11, 2025, in Palos Verdes, California. Helen grew up in Colorado and graduated from the Colorado School for the Deaf. She was a master of sewing and loved drawing. Helen was supreme in her creativity; she could sew a costume on request within an hour and would perform her art to perfection. She was one of seventeen siblings when she became deaf in an era when life for those who could not hear was not made easy. Helen was still more than a conqueror. She was put in a school aside from her family at the fragile age of six, alone in her silence, she still proved a soldier of life. Helen and her husband Joe gave birth to five children: Ronnie, Tommy, Beverly, Sharon, and Norma. Helen deeply loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. Hard knocks of life befell her as it does us all, but by the grace of our great God, Helen overcame and overcame and overcame. Even in her eighties, she was humble enough to enjoy a toy doll or stuffed animal; she knew how to behold the beauty of the simple things of life that much of humanity has forgotten. Whenever someone was willing to sit and talk with her, she would bring out a notebook, and in her stunning penmanship, she could recount stories of past events in her life that would make a strong author desire to write a book on Helen’s life. She has been the silent trooper for her loved ones, caring well beyond even their very deaths. It was obvious to see through her words and writings that her great love for her family never ceased. Questions she had continuously about the welfare of her children and siblings rang abundantly from the signs of her hands and the ink on the paper. She was a woman of faith, hope, strength, and the constant seeker of joy. Helen loved stories and movies set with positive themes; she loved watching Superman save the world for the better! Helen was a little extra for the good; she always needed a little extra salt for her food, a little extra cream for her coffee, a little extra ice cream for her cake. She knew how to make things a little extra good for those around her, she loved so very much. She will be missed a little extra every day until we re-unite with her again. We Love you, Dear Helen.
