Helen Miller

On August 31, 2022, Helen Pulfer Miller, a beloved sister, wife, mother and grandmother, aunt and cousin, passed away at age of 73. Born to Fredrick and Margaret Pulfer, Helen attended El Camino Jr. College before graduating from Long Beach State University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She became a 1st Grade Teacher for Torrance Unified School District and later, Ascension Lutheran School.

While attending El Camino, she met the love of her life, Greg Miller, with whom she was a lab partner, burdened with the task of pricking his finger for an assignment requiring blood samples. After three years of dating, they married at Ascension Lutheran Church, Torrance CA, and a few years later became parents to sons, Todd and Chad. They were married for 52 years, this past July 18th.

Helen was active in her church and regularly volunteered as a group leader for Bible Study Fellowship. Helen also loved the beach, swimming, crafting, camping, traveling, spending time with good friends and family, and telling stories about her 6 grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Lesley, her husband, Greg, her sons Todd and Chad, and her grandchildren Abby, Avery, Grant, Wyatt, Noelle and Josie. The Memorial will be held on Friday, Oct 14, at 2 p.m. at Green Hills Mortuary.
