Hector Caro Flores of Gardena, CA passed away at Cedars Sinai on June 28, 2013 at the age of 61 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Owner of Flores Plumbing, Hector worked as a successful plumber for 40 years and was also owner and founder of Goodyear Plumbing in previous years. As countless customers will attest, Hector was the one of best plumbers in the South Bay.
Hector was born on January 17, 1952 in Guerrero Mexico to Soledad Martinez and Carlos Flores, and he was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Eileen Flores; daughters Denise Miles and Linda Flores; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Jason McCalister; grand-daughters Baylee Miles and Elyssa, Sadie, and Maggie McCalister; and brother Tony Otero.
An avid and accomplished outdoorsman, Hector most enjoyed spending his time camping, hunting, and visiting with his family, particularly his grand-daughters, who were the loves of his life—nothing gave Hector more happiness than simple pleasures like taking "his girls" out for ice cream or tacos.
Memorial services for Hector will take place on July 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Reception will follow at the family home of Hector and Eileen Flores.
Special thanks are extended to the staff at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles who provided compassionate and extraordinary care during his treatments and hospitalization, especially Dr. Tricia Len and Dr. Steven Miles.
