Born July 31, 1920 in Greeley, Colorado, Glen N. Smith was the 2nd child of 8 born to John Wesley and Esther Eva Smith. He passed away in Torrance on July 14, 2011 where he was a 65-year resident. This is where he married his wife of 66-years, raised a son, worked and retired after 40-years of service at the National Supply Co. (Armo Steel). Glen was also a 40-year faithful member of the Harbor Church.
He is survived by her son Boyd Smith (Linda); 3 grandchildren: Jon Smith (Tina), Jamie Trujillo (Michael) and Tisha Verhoef (Marten); 5 great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Marie, Kyle Jeffrey and Konnor Lewis Smith along with Boyd Immanuel and Holland-Grace Verhoef; 1 great grandchild, Rose Leigh Trujillo, who preceded him in death. He is also survived by 3 brothers: Wayne Smith (Diane), Danney Smith, Coy Smith (Shirley), along with a sister, Connie Murdock; many nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and good friends. His parents, John Wesley and Esther Eva Smith, a brother Noel Smith, two sisters Ruth Alyrest and Shirley Smith in addition to his wife of 66-years have all preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held at Green Hills Chapel, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 1:00pm. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 1:00-3:00pm.
