Gino, The Purple Chef, was born on September 29, 1969 and was the first born child of Emilio and Christine Marroquin.
Gino graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute and worked as a professional chef for 8 years until he began dialysis in 2013 for his kidney disease. Gino was a prolific reader and writer and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He enjoyed traveling and often reminisced about two favorite trips with his parents. He traveled to Italy with his father and to Norway with his mother. He was a friend to everyone and loved to share his knowledge with anyone who would listen. Gino loved his country and was proud to be an American. He was also very proud of his faith and loved to share the gospel of Jesus.
He died peacefully in his sleep on August 4, 2022 due to complications from his kidney disease.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Marroquin. He is survived by his father, Emilio Marroquin, sister, Vicky Cathcart, brothers, Brad and Theodore Marroquin, and seven nieces and nephews - Amanda, Tyler, Nicholas, Dylan, Madison, Aydan, and Freya
