Gilbert M. Lara

Gilbert M. Lara, the son of Manuel and Audrey Lara, passed away on May 6, 2012 at the age of 78. He was born on March 27, 1934 in Los Angeles, California and had been a life long resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife, Evelia Lara; son, Emery (Diana) Lara; step-granddaughter, Anissa (Patrick) Giron and great-granddaughters, Mariah, Miranda and Mariana Giron. Among many things, Gilbert loved to attend vintage auto and motorcycle shows and collected antique auto magazines in the 1940's, he enjoyed riding his bicycle on either Paseo Del Mar or the San Pedro Waterfront Promenade, he loved to listen to his jazz music while attending to his gardening at his home and lastly, he really enjoyed meeting and conversing with his San Pedro friends while out dining with his wife. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
