George M. Cambon, 91, peacefully passed away August 27, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born in Blythe, CA the youngest of 10 children. Grew up in Los Angeles, attended University High School and married his high school sweetheart Ruth Peacock. After graduating from UCLA in 1943, they moved to Torrance, CA where he was employed as an Industrial Engineer at U.S. Steel Iron Works Torrance for over 35 years. He resided in Rancho Palos Verdes for the last 39 years. He is predeceased by his loving wife Ruth. He is survived by his son John Cambon (Barbara) and his daughter Joan Porter (Larry) and four grandchildren, John Cambon Jr., Megan Cambon, Rhett Peterson and Suzanne Lynch, and five great grandchildren. He loved sports, camping, gardening, the stock market and most of all his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness and his generosity. A private graveside memorial will be held in Blythe, CA.
