Genoveva Erdelez

Genoveva "Jenka" Erdelez, passed into God's hands on April 7, 2015 at the age of 94. Jenka was born to Roman and Francis (Klarin) Kovacev on February 14, 1921 in Jezera, Croatia. In 1949 she married Jerko "Jerry" Erdelez then moved from Jezera to San Pedro in 1952. In her younger years Jenka enjoyed crocheting and knitting, but her passion was her garden which she cared for even into her 90's. Jenka, lovingly known as Baba, was a kind, generous, and gentle soul, but loved her family fiercely. She is deeply missed and will be in our hearts forever. Jenka is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, sister Kordula Lapov, brother Ivo Kovacev, and grandson Robert Erdelez. She is survived by daughter Annie (Dan) DeBenedictis, son Emil (Albina) Erdelez; grandchildren Carly (Patrick) Purcell, Jason (Katie) DeBenedictis, Ryan DeBenedictis, Tome Erdelez, Tina Erdelez, Christopher Erdelez; great-grandchildren Matthew Purcell, Emily Purcell, and Payton DeBenedictis. Services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
