Gee Linda Campbell Crossfield known to most as “Linda aka Francesca”, was born on February
11, 1948, as she would not let you forget that date, in Washington, D.C. to the late Laura
Elizabeth and George Lee Campbell. Linda spent her early childhood in D.C. and Gate City, VA,
before moving across the county to Los Angeles, CA, with her mother, step-father Robert
Gaines, and her siblings in search of a beRer life.
Gee Linda has always been full of life and a ball of fire, even at a young age. She kept her
mother on her toes and her younger sibling on an adventure. Linda’s life in Los Angeles was
beyond evenUul. She lived in beauVful homes with a Vght knit family. She met individuals and
created bonds, that would impact her life forever. Living in Los Angeles, the city of dreams and
Hollywood presented Linda the opportunity to experience things only some people dream of.
Linda finished high school with LAUSD. Shortly aYer finishing school, Linda became a mother
giving birth to her daughter Angela and then her son Christopher. Finding work for Linda was
never a problem. She held several job posiVons over the years. Working for the Courthouse, the
County Jail, Featuring in Movies, traveling all over to various venues Singing the Blues known as
“Francesca the Diva.” She always had a way to keep some money in her wallet.
Linda’s gregarious and naturally infecVous personality made her popular and aRracted people.
She had a way of making you feel special and loved. She conVnuously added to her extended
family. Always accepVng someone into her circle of life and love. Staying at home wasn’t in her
nature. She enjoyed being out on the go, able-bodied or not. Spending Vme with her family and
friends. She would never miss an occasion or event, and an opportunity to eat some good food,
partake in some sweets and drink soda.
Linda accepted Christ and was bapVzed at an early age. Growing up Linda aRended church and
Sunday School regularly. This is where she developed her passion for music and singing, while
singing in the choir. As an adult, Linda faithfully aRended church rain or shine, well or ill. She
enjoyed visiVng numerous churches and would travel all over the city for services. HosVng her
glorious first Sunday’s, she met and inviVng countless people from all over to come speak and
worship with her. Evangelist Gee Linda was a faithful and acVve servant at The InsVtute of
Devine Heavenly Hope of Prayer. Where she not only served but volunteered for whatever was
needed. She feed the homeless, and provided countless Sunday meals for the Church. Her love
for God and the church was immeasurable.
Linda’s love and generosity touched an abundance of people. When she met Orville aka Bob
their love for one another were inseparable. Linda married the love of her life Bob. Linda and
Bob have a special bond. No one but God could have bought them together.
Aside from doing what she loved, Linda did whatever she could for her family, friends, neighbors
and church. She opened her doors to those that had no home, she would feed those that had
no food, she would cloth those that had no cloths, she would help those that needed help, she
would give her last to others and trust the Lord to take care of her. As he always did. Linda will
be remembered by countless numbers.
Weary and worn on April 17, 2023, The Almighty God Dispelled an Angel to call Gee Linda
home. AwaiVng her at the pearly gates in heaven her son: Christopher, parents: George and
Laura, stepfather: Robert, twin Brother: George, brothers: Herman and Clifford, sisters: Heronia
and PaRy, step sister: Juanita, sister in law: Len, brother in law: Robert, nephews: Randy and
Devious, and other family members who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband; Bob, daughter: Angela of Gate City, VA,
nieces: Valerie, Vivian, Latasha, Constance, SheriRa, Kimberly and Stephanie, nephews: Clifford
Jr., Deonte, Brian Sr., Patrick, Tony, Jerome, Randy, Dion, Antonio, great nephew: Tony (Tt), great
niece: Naomi, her extended family Avery and Andrea and her church Family. Linda also leaves a
host of other relaVves, friends, and extended family.
