Gary Rodney Rountree

Gary Rodney Rountree passed away peacefully at the age of 68 in Long Beach, CA. Born in Los Angeles on September 28, 1946 to Thaddeus Jr. and Barbara Rountree, Gary was the second of three children.

Gary grew up in Los Angeles, and eventually moved to Gardena, where he lived the majority of his life. He always had a welcoming smile on his face and was well liked by everyone he came across. Due to health issues, Gary's last years were spent at Genesis Health Care in Long Beach. There he enjoyed the camaraderie of the staff and the other residences.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ann Rountree and his father, Thaddeus Rountree Jr.

Gary is survived by his three children, Debora Hunt, Vickie (Ascencion) Rubio and Gary Rountree Jr., his grandchildren, Chad, Briana, Evon, Maritza, Jonathan, Kayla and Francis and his great-granddaughter, Alexandria, his mother, Barbara Rountree, his brother, Kent Rountree, his sister, Lynn (Luther) Pride, and is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M.
