Frank was born to Hugh and Mary Shrader near Bishop, Virginia in Tazewell County on February 28, 1916. He was one of eleven siblings. He lived a long and blessed life passing away at age 102 on April 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by the one and only love of his life, Carole, after 64 years of marriage. Frank was born in VA but spent most of his adult life in So. CA. He served in the US Army during WWII, and upon his discharge enjoyed a long working career with Ralphs Grocery Company. Upon his retirement from Ralphs, he became a gentleman farmer on a 10 acre avocado orchard, and sat on the Calavo Growers Board of Directors for several years.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Janet (Leif) Werneid; three Grandchildren, Lisa (John) Smeaton, Michelle Jewett (Steven) Henley, Kristian (Vedika) Werneid, and three great grandchildren, Wyatt Smeaton, Elias Henley, and Kai Henley.
Funeral Services will be on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 11:30a.m. at the Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Reception immediately following service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor, or your favorite charity in Frank's name.
