Frank Edilberto Sanchez

Francisco Edilberto Sánchez passed away August 5, 2022 surrounded by his wife, daughters and step daughters. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria, daughters, Socorro and Margie, step daughters Erika and Yessenia and grandchildren, Jesse Jr, Josie, Jackie, Jacob, Victoria, Lorenzo, Mauricio, Juliana and great grandson Elias Frank. He was born February 24, 1937 in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico. He was the oldest son to Francisco and Maria Isabela Sanchez. When he was young Frank and his family moved to California and settled in East L.A. He attended Cathedral High School where he excelled in track and field. After high school he explored San Fransisco and it is there where he began his 47 year career with the ILWU, with Local 10.
Frank moved back to Los Angeles and continued to work for ILWU where he became a crane operator and trainer. He was very proud of his work for Local 13 and the men and women he trained. He retired in 2004 leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Frank loved his family and always had a way to make everyone around him laugh and love him. He enjoyed traveling, watching football, dancing, listening to music and visiting casinos!! He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
